Peggy Tahir is the SFTS Lodge Librarian, and a long-standing SFTS Lodge member, not to mention one of its most accomplished poets (and chefs).
In a recent Friday night talk on “Liberation,” Tahir shared her own insights and experiences as well as inspirational readings from the Diamond Sutra, the Tibetan Book of the Great Liberation, Union of Mahamudra and Dzogchen, and a lively discussion followed.
Of particular poignancy was one of Daniel Ladinsky’s renditions from the poetry of Hafiz:
The small man
Builds cages for everyone
While the sage,
Who has to duck his head
When the moon is low,
Keeps dropping keys all night long
